Amherst Health Department Announces:

ANNUAL RABIES CLINIC

The annual Rabies Clinic will take place on:
SATURDAY: March 6, 2010
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
HAMPSHIRE VETERINARY HOSPITAL
260 Snell Street, Amherst MA
Fee: $15.00

All dogs and cats living in Massachusetts are required by law to be vaccinated against rabies. Pet owners are encouraged to bring the family pet to be vaccinated against rabies. Michael Katz, DVM, Amherst Animal Inspector, will be administering the rabies vaccine. There is a $15.00 charge per pet for the vaccination.

Carol Hepburn, Amherst Animal Welfare Officer, will be available for dog licensing. The fee for licensing is payable by check or money order to the Town of Amherst.

More Free H1N1 Vaccine Available

Another opportunity is available to receive a free H1N1 Flu vaccine. An H1N1 Clinic will be held at the Hampshire Mall on Route 9 in Hadley. This is a walk-in clinic; appointments are not needed. There is no charge to receive the vaccine.

Swine Flu (H1N1) Vaccine Clinics Available at the Hampshire Mall

Swine Flu (H1N1) vaccination clinics will be held at the Hampshire Mall on Route 9 in Hadley coordinated by the Hampshire County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition. Area residents who wish to receive a free vaccination are welcome. The walk-in clinics will be available as follows:

Dates and Times:
January 8th: 5-9 p.m.
January 9th: 10-6 p.m.
January 10th: 11-6 p.m.

Volunteers from the local Medical Reserve Corps teams will be operating the clinic in conjunction with the Hadley, South Hadley and Amherst Health Departments, UMASS Health Services, MASS Department of Public Health, Hampshire County Preparedness Coalition, Town Emergency Planners, local Police and Emergency Medical Technicians.
